The reported number of individual who were turned away and did not return was reported as one quarter of 1% of those registered to vote. This is not out of line with what was reported for #LocalElections2023 . However that reported was consistent with 3% of electors being affected and thus not voting - Survation and lower Yougov figures - or even 5% -higher Yougov estimate. So it makes sense to work on the same assumptions as for May 2023.

Data from local authorities shows that at least 10,000 people were prevented from #voting in #localelections2023 due to the new photo ID rules, and that doesn't count the people who were deterred from going to the polling station as they didn't have suitable ID. Where a seat was won /lost by a handful of votes the turned-away voters could have changed the result.
