Lowish budget, semi-scripted, kinda reminiscent of Joko & Klaas: Duel um Die Welt.

She's actually watching something on her Handy (prolly Netflix), and I've only got half an eye on the TV, for the shenanigans. I could give a shit about the background, and galavant around #HephalumpWorld.

today about it being the 40th anniversary, I just had to watch #LocalHero again. It's the little comic touches that make it for me, like Mac leaning on the beer pump in the bar and the two of them just looking at it pouring onto the floor. Classic comedy.

Took delivery of my Criterion Collection director-approved bluray of “Local Hero” (roughly twenty bucks at Amazon, btw) and are more convinced than ever that it’s not a hilarious fish-out-of-water story, nor is it a Shortbread Tin look at Scotland and its silly characters and traditions, “Local Hero” is, for my money, 100% about knowing where your heart belongs. It’s about finding your right place in the world, and in life.
