Finding a book online with my local library usually has 2 outcomes:
1. Search for title/author. Search autocompletes with the correct spelling of title/author. "Book could not be found".
2. Search for title/author. Book actually found, but has a 15 person wait list.

I love the NY Public library. My local branch is one block away. NYPL is always my first check whenever I see a book I might want to buy, especially if it’s illustrated.

@erik_kwakkel I spent some non-research time visiting the Stuttgart city library last month. Of course I had an objective, but I quickly found myself in the local writers section. It’s an amazing space with wonderful curation. In contrast, I visited my #locallibrary in #RanchoCordova this summer to explore the local history section. Unfortunately that did not exist (yet), but I was also quickly consumed with the selection of books I did not expect to find there. It was alive and 😃.

Just finished listening to #audiobook of Ronnie Spector’s Be My Baby, read with so much heart and brio by Rosie Perez. Best autobiography I’ve encountered in ages. Originally written in 1990, and reissued this year with new epilogue. I’ve been mainlining The Ronettes’ music since I started listening to the book a couple of days ago. Best of all, you can get the audiobook on BorrowBox at your #LocalLibrary 👏 👏👏

I rejoined the library yesterday after 25 years away & buying books. Picked up ‘decent ride’ by @IrvineWelsh & remember I randomly picked up Trainspotting in the early 90’s.
A wee tad ashamed I’ve let #locallibrary down these past years. #dickinstitute is excellent.
