NIce start to walk round my #LocalPatch this evening. We watched each other for a few minutes then the buzzard flew to another scruby tree a little further away. Eventually magpies took exception to this and chased it off.

Got a walk in yesterday afternoon - flexibility of WFH is good Kingfisher back by the lock hadn't seen it since the cold snap with lock iced over.
Little grebe ran coot-like across the river then gently disappeared into reeds at rivers edge.

Four more species added to #LocalPatch list for 2023: skylark, goldcrest, great spotted woodpecker and house sparrow.
Strangely the one I felt least likely to see was the sparrow - it must be years since I've last seen one but they used to be everywhere when I was a lad...

A reminder of spring. A #Localpatch Bluethroat, maybe my bird of the year...
Other half wants 1 last relocation #adventure & is keen to move to #Scotland prob near #Edinburgh. He wants #LocalPatch #birding & I want city opportunities like #theatre #ArtGalleries #LiveMusic #Comedy #Culture & all on public transport for getting home safely after eating drinking & making merry. Preferably an affordable town close to Edinburgh with a bit of energy, nice shops, community for yoga, Pilates, swimming, cycling, book groups etc. Any recommendations?
