Heres a question for #hamradio and #maidenhead #locators, and I guess #map nerds and geeks:

What is the 'shape' of a maidenhead field or square. I've coded my map thing up to work out the corners, then I draw a straight line from corner to corner, which actually means the projection matters!

The shape of the boxes on the two maps are different even though the corners are in the same place.

I suspect the cylindrical projection is 'correct'?
