LB a) lodoss is my first love, and indeed the thing that made me want to learn Japanese. b) yup, there's an entire table top (or table talk, as they call it) rpg set w/ rules and items and three magazine size books full of art and lore and loot tables (I own them, they're gorgeous) and c) I mean look at these babies, who wouldn't want to play this???

Far as I can tell, Lodoss content is unrelated to OGL.

Early on Group SNE had to rework their content to avoid copyright issues with TSR. So if you're looking for a new fantasy TRPG to build on, look no further!

Translation Poll

I'm working on a translation of the Record of Lodoss War players guide.

One weird thing I've noticed is that it seems like Lodoss itself is a mistranslation. ロードス島 is the same as saying "The Island of Rhodes." But it seems like when it was first localized, someone decided it should be said "Lodoss." I can't find any source of Ryo Mizuno commenting on this.

So what do ya'll think?

Here's the last UT2004 model I worked on (that never released), Pirotess from Record of Lodoss War. i was frustrated over weight issues (clipping and legs/hands bending). Still like the head though
