Every time I think I have external MIDI environment sorted out in Logic Pro X, all I have to do is close and re-open the project and everything is wrong again. This has been going on for years and I'm tremendously tired of it.

nowadays I use mostly #logicprox but I also worked with #puredata
Yeah, I understand your thinking prize wise, but for me it is important that people can find & listen to my music. I looked at other artists on #bandcamp & their caculation and my ratio is 1€ buys you 6 min of music, which I find fair if someone likes my stuff and wants to support me. You don't have to it will always be free to stream on bandcamp. Thanks for your input anyway!

so I have started editing podcasts in #LogicProX, and I love it. the only things I have not figured out is how to do ducking, and how to save my file to an MP3 once I am done. Even with those issues, it is so much better than GarageBand.

My setup isn’t ideal either. I use headphones for all of my work, normal ones for recording & initial mixing. Then Slate VSX for fine tuning by emulating different 1st class studios. I’ll then use the speakers as a final listen just to ensure there’s nothing really out of place.
Because I use headphones for pretty much all my listening now, I can use that experience to mild what I’m hearing when I record & mix.

@flockofnazguls@mas.to Same. I have #LogicProX installed, but #Reaper is home. I prefer using it on Linux (and do so for making all our videos) but I have so many licensed plugins that I can only easily use on MacOS or Windows. Of the two MacOS is a hugely more efficient environment.

I very, very briefly toyed with the idea of migrating from #Reaper to #LogicProX as my primary #DAW.

While Logic looks nice (I downloaded the 90 day trial version), I decided to stick with Reaper for two major reasons:

1. I've used Reaper for long enough now that I'm totally comfortable with it. Firing it up after playing around with Logic felt like coming home.

2. I don't want to be locked in to Mac OS for the rest of my music-making life. At some point will jump back to Linux.
