#OTD in 1929: Joe #Aiello decided to make a change in the leadership of the #Chicago Unione Siciliana, murdered Patsy #Lolordo in his home. The Unione was a front for #Mafia activity. (I suspect its leaders traditionally served as arbiter of Windy City gangland disputes, a responsibility that became unrealistic as gangs began assassinating them.)
