My characters only travelled half a mile in the last scene but it took me 45 minutes of research to work out their route 😅

Happily the layout of the major streets in the area they're in at this point has hardly changed in 300 years. Longer, probably, as it mostly escaped the Fire.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun following them around this map of London from 1682:

(St) Paul's Steeple.
From John Playford's Country Dancing Master, 1651.
This refers to the steeple of Old St Paul's Cathedral, which burned down after being struck by lightening 1561.

🎩🇬🇧 Paddington Station is a true London icon. Opened in 1838 to serve as the gateway for the Great Western Railway, today, it stands tall, blending Victorian elegance with modern bustle. 🚂

A question for historians or people with an interest in history. I'm looking for biographies or social histories of working class or very lower middle class people in 1920s UK, but all I've been able to find so far are books on middle class or upper class people.

Please boost for more suggestions!

Went on the Shepherd's Bush tour today. You explore the old tunnels and lift shafts that were superseded when escalators were installed in the late 1930s (see the substructure of the escalators in the second pic). More photos on Flickr: flic.kr/s/aHBqjAsMoQ

thehistoryoflondon The Granada at Tooting opened in 1931 and is one of only three cinemas that are Grade I listed. Many famous artists have performed concerts, including Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. The Bee Gees were the last big names to play there in 1968. It is now a bingo hall.
