#LondonBeerFlood: Henry #Meux & Co ‘Horse Shoe Brewery’ in #Westminster (pic: 1764-1921). On 17th October 1814 a large vat ruptured & up to 323,000imp gallons (1,470,000L) of beer spilled into neighbouring houses killing 8 people in what was referred to as the ‘London Beer Flood’
