There is something magical in #reading #lonesomedove; it is a #western and #historicalfiction and, in the first 100 pages, it is pretty vivid in the description. We are in Texas and after the American civil war; it is a tad challenging to get though the rampant racism (and it truly comes across) and mysoginy, I guess typical of the time. Great depiction of Lonesome Dove so far.

Really enjoyed this one. Certainly an epic. Thought Augustus McCrae was hilarious. Lorena’s story was grim and the last few chapters were pretty bleak though
