So last week I went to a doctor with a throat infection (+LongCovid) and I was sent home as if I had a cold. Today I saw my usual doctor (she wasn't available last week), because my throat still hurts.
(Almost as if I can't beat this infection on my own because I have an underlying condition? Huh.)
So she did give me antibiotics, the type I've been asking for for six months, as it's said to have good effects on LongCovid patients.
I feel weird. Can I be happy? I can't believe it? Is this going to work? All I needed to do was get a hurty throat for ten days? Suffering for nine months, nah, no meds for you. Throat a bit red? Okelidokeli.
Amoxicillin. Started today. 🤞🤞🤞

I saw that BC007 is getting to the next research phase this spring already. This makes me incredibly hopeful.
If anyone has the time/energy/etc to find out if a Belgian could participate, that would be awesome. I'd love to. I can totally find someone to drive me to Köln or so.

3. (LDN continued)
A big trial would be necessary to prove the effectiveness of LDN, but "there is little incentive for pharmaceutical companies to conduct this research as naltrexone is inexpensive and off-patent." (copypaste from the wikipedia articel on low dose Naltrezone)

3. Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) for neuroinflammation. Naltrexone is a medication prescribed to people with a substance addiction (alcohol, opioids...). It's very specialised, doctors are not eager to prescribe this. Low dose Naltrexone is about 1/10th of the usual dose, and is being experimented within ME/CFS research.

There is no general treatment for LongCovid, but there are options for certain symptoms.
1. Extremely important: resting and pacing. Exercise is harmful. Pacing means doing activities within your energy level, and not more than this, to avoid crashing.
2. Betablockers for POTS-like symptoms. This is a common medication, it requires a prescription, your family doctor might help you with this.
