Here are some Korean longsworders sparring without protective gear. No masks. No padded jackets. Not even gloves.

I understand the value of this: teaching control and respect for the weapons. And it’s done in combination with ordinary sparring.

But I reckon this’d be a *disaster* if done more commonly. At the very least, broken finger bones daily. youtu.be/3lruFm6e3UM

My zornhau ort is finally coming together so consistently that the instructors don’t have a chance to parry. It is SO good seeing/feeling the difference from a few weeks ago. That sense of accomplishment and confidence from class is just *chef’s kiss.*

Had a great class last night. We had a class of newish students (3 classes or less of rapier) so we were able to focus on basics.
However, all of those students have gone through our novice program so with that knowledge and the fact that everyone was keen and focused and we were able to build up those basics into Plates 7 and 16 and a little bit of Plate 10 as a treat.
might not be happy about a disengage being referred to as a durchwechslen though.
