Not bad as runs go, Mr Kelly!
182.7 miles into the Long Trail FKT, John is running a blinder. He remains ahead of Ben’s current record. Overall he has to beat a time of 4 day 11 hours 44 minutes 0 seconds.
John reached VT Rte 103 (182.7 miles) in just shy of 2 days and 20 hours. He has a smidge over 90 miles to go.
He spent 33 minutes at the Rte 103 pit stop, 20 of which were spent kipping.
Apparently the expletives have ‘significantly reduced in number’

John is over halfway through his Long Trail fkt. He’s between Middlebury Gap (134.4 miles) and Brandon Gap (144 miles)
Overnight he ate well and had 90 minutes sleep. The team are keeping their eye on the Air Quality Index which is being impacted by wildfires, but so far isn’t significantly affecting the attempt.
Loving this pic taken at Molly Stark’s Balcony (wife of General John Stark, both famed for their roles in the American Revolution)

It’s hot hot hot over there, but John is making good progress. He surpassed the 85 mile point around 1830 this evening.
Cheese based meals soon to be swapped out for chocolate. Shoe change done. Keep it up Mr Kelly! 💪🏻

Are we going to talk about the lack of detail on the maps over in the US? 🤷🏻♀️
John Kelly is going strong on his Long Trail fkt. The trail runs the length of Vermont, from the Canadian border to the Massachusetts border. It’s c.272 miles, so comparable to the Pennine Way in length, but has around double the climb and is more technical.
He’s just shy of 50 miles in. Apparently he’s ‘dropping pacers like flies’ 😆
We may have been stuck waiting for a massive truck accident to clear for an hour, but we are finally up near Okemo in Vermont and ready for a big ski weekend, just the twins and me. Living the dream! #Ski #SkiTheEast #Okemo #Vermont #skiing #vermontstodon #LongTrail #familyskitrip
