Re my last boost, clothing for tall women is so hard to find - my mum experienced this all her life. Would be great if any of you can give tips to . I’m imagining shoes are really difficult as my mum also experienced that.

@sheepchase Yes, that would be great, some reach on this would only help! Thank you for asking. I am planning on eventually sharing my opinions on some clothes I purchased from an American online store that caters to very tall men and women. My pink flannel in the other post is actually one of these tall garments. I just wanted to wash and wear them a few times first. I will post the link to the source to , I just didn’t want to give too enthusiastic of recommendation before a trial.

And now “It is I, Ben, a 6’6” tall man who ‘Gets It™️’” from customer support is emailing me wondering if I’m having concerns about ordering tall women’s clothes, because he noticed I have them in my cart and haven’t purchased them yet?

Ben, chillax! I’ve got kids and just haven’t had a chance to fill my cart yet! And…. Do you get it? 😂

Trying to be more brave, so here’s another selfie. Despite having no boobs to fill in this dress, and no fun accessories, I still felt pretty cute. Basically just messing around and trying to figure out girl stuff.

The dress was a clearance sale and only $10 so I grabbed it. We are not having summer dress weather currently (snow and 17°F), but I wanted to try it out anyways.

I messed up the makeup a bit, but I think this pic hides it mostly.

Introduction Reboot

Hi, I’m trans (she/her), and I’m awkward, so please be kind. You can call me Lucía, but my friends get to call me Luca. I’ve only come out in private to a few friends, and somewhat passively socially via my Mastodon account. Only a couple friends have seen me in girl mode, so this is incredibly scary for me to post publicly. But I have to come out of hiding sometime, right? This seems like a good place for it.

I don’t have a perfect pic. I am posting this extremely low quality selfie because I am a perfectionist and will wait until I have “The Perfect Picture” if I don’t just tear off the bandaid and do it. Also, I felt cute in this unplanned pic. The Perfect Picture is unattainable, which means there is a high likelihood of me never posting one if I don’t just do it. This picture, like myself, is quite imperfect and quite flawed, perhaps perfectly flawed, so I suppose it more precisely reflects my reality than a staged or prepared-for photo.

Hopefully it is evident that I am femme. I am also gay and ace, autistic, and have relatively severe OCD. I suffer from mental illness that is often debilitating and disabling, but I have found some relief in exploring authenticity and accepting and embracing being trans. I love and adore the friends who have embraced me, and this gives me some measure of confidence.

I am a Long Woman, 6’5” and 150lbs, and for better or worse this is inextricably linked to my identity. I’ve literally hated being a tall and scrawny male-person my entire life. But strangely enough, since realizing I am not a man, I am becoming much happier in my narrow flesh vessel. Dysphoria is a bitch, but I am feeling much less of it in this imperfect picture. I am also often Long Winded, so if you made it this far, thank you.

Take 2

This was initially a short toot to ask about finding numerically large sized women’s shoes, and to see if there was even anybody else out here in the same boat as me, but it has turned into a longer rambling post. Apologies.

As a self identifying Long Woman I have many thoughts and questions (mostly questions, but seeking thoughts) regarding finding cute clothing to fit a woman of long and narrow form factor such as myself, or ways to make the best of clothing that doesn’t perhaps fit the best. It would be great to hear from somebody with experience regarding specific vendors, brands, tips, techniques, etc, to accommodate a long pike/eel shaped woman with big feet.

My shoe size in women’s is 16. I wish I could shrink my feet, but alas, I cannot. I have done some basic internet searches but have not found many shoe choices I would feel comfortable buying.

My hope was that I might connect with other Long Women who in turn might perhaps connect with one another, and share resources and tips on finding affordable and good quality clothing to feel comfortable in. On the other hand, my reach is minuscule as a tiny account, and there may be too few Long Women to form any sort of useful collective network for information sharing.

It was a friends idea to create a Long Women hashtag (I think it is a clever idea, and don’t want to take credit), so hopefully other people might benefit from it. If women of other difficult to shop for form factors would like to be included, I am happy to extend the conversation to include other shapes and sizes. Feel free to jump on board in the comments. This just initially grew out of my own difficulty in finding clothes that fit.

Most specifically, I am asking for some help for trans women of atypical dimensions (atypical only with respect to the sizes and shapes of women’s clothing found in most stores—all the shapes and sizes are valid), who may have little to no experience shopping and dressing as a woman, to feel good and cute in their clothes. I am one of these people, but I suspect there are others.
