Omnipod 5 kind of sucks. There, I said it. After waiting a year+ past their “public release” announcement and pushing for weeks to get my insurance to cover it and my endo to write a script and going through several failed delivery attempts via the awful Amazon Pill Pak “online pharmacy” – I FINALLY got my hands on it and within 2 months had determined it was a waste of time for me. Why? Let me count the ways…

Been thoroughly unimpressed with the Omnipod 5 setup since it forces me to carry two devices, constantly loses connection to my CGM depending on placement and is too lackadaisical about keeping my glucose numbers in range. It’s a bit daunting to switch but they support the DASH pods without an intermediary device as of 3.x which is worth the price of admission. We’ll see how this goes… #T1D #diabetes #DOC #looping
