#Blueberry season in the #SanJuanIslands is startlingly short. I'm always happy when it arrives. Here's our first batch from #MidnightsFarms on #LopezIsland

The home page for #LopezIsland's HAVEN Kitchen & Bar features Sriracha Bloody Marys. If you've ever wondered if they are as good as they look, the answer is... yes.
A Great Camas and a Chocolate Lily from our walk out on Iceberg Point the other afternoon. Although, I do like the lily’s other name of Mission Bells, particularly for this specimen. #LopezIsland
The annual Tour de Lopez bicycle event will take place on #LopezIsland tomorrow, 4/29. Plan for increased traffic on our #Anacortes to Lopez sailings today & tomorrow. On the morning of the event, we'll add a stop at Lopez during our 730a Anacortes to #Orcas. https://t.co/rKlBLa0hVN

#IcebergPoint on the south end of #LopezIsland is among 1,000 acres in the #archipelago now #protected under a #ManagementPlan for the #SanJuanIslands National Monument.
Remember the #BarackObama era? When he was president 10 years ago, he signed a #proclamation #establishing the San Juan Islands (SJI) #NationalMonument on March 25.

Adorable baby napping in the sun with mom. #LopezIsland is overloaded with cuteness.
Found a deer on the beach unable to stand. Called #LopezIsland sheriff, and Officer Walker came out. Got close enough to see that it was a young buck who had been in the frigid water and dragged himself onto beach. He did stand but was shaking badly.
Encouraged him to walk down the beach to climb to safety, but he favored the water so we backed off. Happy to report he was heading east toward safer ground.
Officer Walker was kind to the animal; his help gave this buck a chance at survival.
Hobi #Plumbing here on #LopezIsland has been wonderful to work with. Mike, the owner, fielded a call right away and scoped the job promptly. His crew that did the work was professional and clearly skilled. Unexpected plumbing problems are never fun, but getting connected with a company like Hobi takes a lot of the stress out of it. I highly recommend them.
Studio 45 Glass is a fascinating local glass-blowing shop on #LopezIsland. Their doors are open to the public on weekdays, both studio and active blowing shop. Very much worth a visit!

Welcome to @Doctorwahbeh, who is now a neighbor both IRL and here! Welcome, fellow #LopezIsland fulltimer.
@ggbeard @lee Yes, I believe hashtags are the right solution here. Perhaps @lee and I could add these to the about page, or the acceptable use page, so that they are always handy for reference.
One per island, like:
#LopezIsland
#OrcasIsland
#SanJuanIsland
#ShawIsland
...
plus a some ferry-centric tags.
Maybe we can start an online document to agree on them, and then publish to the site?

@grooms The ideal is that the community moderates itself, which (I believe) requires small, local participation. That's where Twitter failed us.
The more we can discuss as neighbors, with a shared interesting in community success, the better the experience will be.
IRL, there are huge chasms between world views, even just here on #LopezIsland. But the community still works by us being selective about with whom and how we engage.
With about a foot of #snow on #LopezIsland this week, here's a good reminder of the road-clearing priority.
Please stay safe and don't drive unless you absolutely have to.
