Purple-crowned Lorikeet near York, Western Australia. Very excited to have photographed this bird. While they are very easy to encounter in the South-West, they are difficult to photograph. Often only seen as a speeding blur above the trees or heard squarking nearby.

Young #lorikeets feeding on the nectar of this glorious gum… noisy as, and so fast it was difficult to keep up with the little whipper-snappers!
Passer by’s we’re apologising for getting in the way but I didn’t care. I was mesmerised by these birds youthful exuberance and cheek!!
