Have lost my luggage 9 times during my years working on ships.
Always got it back, but normally with most of the valuables already stolen from it.
Sure, its a bitch when it happens.
Interesting how the Porcelain-generation post the catastrophic and psychological distress they experience when it happens, on social media. We really live in the era of narcissism.

While the rates of #LostLuggage are pretty low - even at their 10 year high last year it was less than eight bags per 1000 checked in, the quantity of lost luggage is mind-blowing.

In 2022 26 million pieces of luggage were lost during journeys by air!

But this also indicates the amount of weight being moved around the world accompanying international travellers;

That's over 5 billion kilos of luggage being flown around the world in 2022; I wonder what the carbon footprint of that would be?

This week's "adventure" was dinner at Lost Luggage. It is a speakeasy attached to The Flight Center restaurant in Manchester, NH.
You don't have access to the extensive tap list from the restaurant. It is more of a cocktail bar.
Push the doorbell button on one of the suitcases in the rack on the wall and the bartender will let you in.

It is absolutely amazing that you can pay thousands of dollars for an airline ticket, including luggage, but when the airline loses your bag it is 100% on the customer to chase the airline for updates. There seems to be absolutely zero will to sort it out, let alone anything vaguely resembling customer service. And if you finally manage to contact an alleged customer service department, they can’t help or get anyone to call you. All on the ‘customer’ #Emirates #LostLuggage
