Play it to any new #LOTR audience post-#PeterJackson and it sounds alien when compared to the airy folk music- understandbly; but the core theme and ambience is so intrinsic to 80s #TTRPG that it is almost in the DNA of the genre. It almost supercedes modern fantasy.

Treated myself, these are 1978 hardbacks of lord of the rings, same as I got from the library back then. I’d never bought a copy since because paperbacks felt disappointing after this, with its fold out maps (that lasted a few months in the library before being nicked for some teenager’s wall) #lotr #tolkien

Do they expect my attention, a discussion, do they just want to fight or do they want to downgrade me as a person?
Not that their opinion is of any relevance to me. They keep saying it's overrated, Tolkien cannot write etc.
Or is it just that they want to listen to themselves and think, anybody else has to listen as well?

The rules feel pretty light and
The system, at least the starter set, really captures the essence of hobbits in the shire and what those adventures are. It also seems like it will get across the whole, epic journey between a fellowship, vibe.
Really recommend the starter set to anyone interested.

It's been great to have #lotr content to listen to while doing the dishes or mowing the lawn, but now I have a problem.
As of yesterday, I've listened to all 273 episodes and have to wait until next Wednesday for the analysis of the Warg Attack on Caradhras. And the lawn needs mowing.
