I was just thinking about #lotteries in the US, and I wonder where the purchasers of all those tickets fall along the income brackets.

Because, if lotteries are funding public services like schools, and the lowest income brackets are providing the bulk of the lottery proceeds, and the winners are themselves pushed into a much higher bracket - doesn't the whole system perpetuate #WealthInequality and underfunding of government by the wealthy?
