The English victory at the Battle of Flodden, led by Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey, and his sons, was a disaster for Scotland. Its nobility was decimated and their king, James IV, became the last reigning British monarch to be killed in battle. Anne de Bretagne, seconde femme de #LouisXII, étant morte le 9 janvier précédent, ce prince, âgé de 52 ans, épousa Marie #Tudor, âgée de 18 ans, sœur d’Henri VIII, roi d’Angleterre. Malheureusement, il meurt le 1er janvier 1515, sans laisser d'héritier.
