For #LoveHornbillsDay, a thread of Kenylangs from the Iban peoples of Borneo. These carved and painted wooden figures represent the Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros), state bird of Sarawak and national bird of Malaysia. First up, a late 19th-early 20th c. piece at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, with signage explaining its cultural signficance:
