Here’s a nice option for a #LowAlcohol #Gin and tonic from Adnams.
It’s bottled at 50% ABV (so it’s still legally gin), but the botanicals are so concentrated you only need 2.5ml to mix with 200ml of tonic.
Decent citrus and floral flavour. Not much juniper. I only used 150ml tonic, tbh with 200 it might get a bit lost. I like my G&Ts strong so YMMV.
You miss the boozy depth, but if you’re abstaining or just moderating then it’s close enough. It’s always good to have options.
A low alcohol coffee donut stout? I’m in! The smell alone is worth the price of entry. Coffee and a glazed donut in stout form. Delightful. You’d expect nothing less from these guys.
0.5% ABV. Wizardry.

I remember seeing many complaints about low & alcohol free beer being shite, but having tried quite a lot of what's available in retail recently, I am very pleasantly surprised. It's been wonderful to have so many really good options when I don't want to or can't have the percents in the system. Particularly Corona Cero and Asahi 0% blew me away (though I was already quite fond of the normal versions).
Anyone's got any good recommendations for UK stores/pubs?

Spinning cones, reverse osmosis.... Here's an idea. Instead of a six-ounce glass of #wine, pour 4oz of something halfway decent and inexpensive like Picpoul and add 2oz seltzer. It's called a #spritzer, people.

'...[R]esearch is increasingly focusing on non-Saccharomyces species that typically are only able to consume the simple sugars in wort, and therefore have a limited production of alcohol.' https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2023.1108961/full #foodstudies #fermentation #brewing #lowalcohol

Firstly, I love that this is available on draft in a pub near me. Secondly - just as importantly- it’s banger. Crisp with a fantastic mouthfeel and a good bite on the palate. Outstanding. Mash Gang are really knocking it put of the park at the moment. 0.5% ABV. More pubs like The Embankment on Trent Bridge please. #NABeer #LowAlcohol

My favourite alcohol free beers are:
• Big Drop Pine Trail Pale Ale
and
•Heaps Normal XPA
They’re not as cheap as some alcohol free beers but worth the premium I reckon.

Started on my Christmas LA beer stash with a Swan Light from Bowness Bay brewery. It's a smashing light but hoppy pale that reminds me of days by Coniston and was a bargain from Booths. I'm glad I got two #beer #lowalcohol
BTW I wrote about this sort of thing for Ferment Magazine a couple of years ago

From the department of incomplete Bibulous research, here is data from Dinah’s rough analysis of 17 early cocktail books dated 1862 through 1917.
tl;dr: they drank at all proofs, from mocktails to overproof all the way through.

How do I know? I wrote 'The Art of the Shim: Low-Alcohol Cocktails to Keep You Level', which was nominated for a Spirit Award at Tales of the Cocktail.
Since it came out there have been more great books on low and no proof options, so start exploring! The cocktail renaissance of the past two decades is available at all strengths, including alcohol-free.
