Today we left our home in Cincinnati and started driving in our remaining car to our new life in Portland. After driving this much I’m looking forward more than ever to a #LowCar lifestyle that was never possible in my old city. Hoping to be completely #CarFree in a year or two!

I just put down a deposit in this bad boy! It cost more than the car I’m getting rid of… 😅 Excited to make it official when I get to Portland!

Just paid the security deposit for my new house in Portland, it’s really happening! Now I just need to follow up with Carvana to turn my car into some cash that I can use to buy a nice cargo e-bike.

Any recommendations for front loader e-cargo bikes with a door/low entry point so that my senior dog doesn’t have to jump over a wall to get in? Currently looking at the R&M Transporter2 65 as an option.

Feeling dejected after walking my 5 year old half a mile to school, with wet feet sliding on icy slush and puddles because 80% of homes didn't clear their sidewalks from the snow that fell 3 days ago.

Nearly every driveway was neatly plowed though.

I’m playing Country Thursday at the Powerhouse Pub tonight in historic Folsom, California with the All Night #HonkyTonk Man, Geoffrey Miller (yes, we will be asked to play that song).

#PublicTransit from my house to the gig takes 2 hours and involves 2 buses, 1 train, and 1 km of walking. Not bad with a #DoubleBass if you don’t need an amp. I do. We also play until 1 a.m., and the first train after the gig leaves at 5:30 am. I’ll drive.

My wife and I realized earlier this year that we were never using both of our #cars at once

We were able to successfully replace that secondary car with a #Onewheel #PintX and I now do the majority of trips within a 6 mile radius (and otherwise) #carfree

It has been a great decision for many reasons, but my favorite thing is not dealing with the #mental and #financial load of multiple cars
