Getting back to a more regular training schedule but it's hard to find the motivation when forbidden to workout as I'd like to. Calf is not hurting anymore but the range of motion is still limited.

And I can't do any high impact or high intensity exercises 😩. Patience is not my strongest point, I have to admit.

This sycamore snapped off in a storm in Nov 21. Well seasoned now. I'll take off the side branches for firewood. I only take what I can carry on my back. Some ex farm workers here wonder why I don't bring my 2.4 litre diesel engine 4x4 pick up and a petrol chainsaw. In the time I would have got organised and driven half a mile, I've had a lovely walk and some exercise. #LowImpact

@bsmall2 @Iragersh interesting about the wood. An earthship may not be "the thing" for your place in japan. but you could use many ideas to make a passive house or a high efficiency space (of an appropriate size). I mean renewable energy may be wind or water and not solar in your area. And water collection looks different everywhere too. Perhaps a composting toilet. And reducing your car use, like mentioned, and increasing things like walking and using a bicycle too. Having a #LowImpact on the earth is a social thing too, so in this case how we use what we use how we take from the earth and how we give back. how we use language to oppress others (even unintentionally).
I suggest finding the elders, whose people have lived in that place for generations. Ask them questions. Ask their opinion. They will be able to guide you to the best options for your place. they will know the #HistoryOfPlace better than any book and will be able to tell you what to think about and be cautious about. perhaps it is piled up logs in a modified earthship, and perhaps there is a design that hasn't been commercialized yet that would be better.

@Iragersh @bsmall2 oh so you're looking for a one-size-fits-all solution. interesting. a "sustainable urban lifestyle" in NYC wouldn't work for me in rural Vermont. However many aspects of my lifestyle are sustainable, #LowImpact and renewable. I use nature as my measure. (in the ways that #WesJackson and #WendellBerry teach). The vision of an #Earthship is to be sustainable and to meet the needs of that place -making each unique. So, for example, the one on Puerto Rico is hurricane proof, solar, multiple water collection & filtration receptacles and is surrounded by a food forest and gardens that grow native foods. it uses the cooler air from the ground to cool the living spaces. which is so important all year in a tropical climate. the specifics of that wouldn’t be useful to many places off the island/outside of a tropical climate. but the bigger ideas would be

the most impressive feature of the earthship design, IMO, is #bioarchitecture. they are built using trash/recycling and other non traditional materials. there is some real forward thinking around bio architecture that can be used in many different climates so i’d imagine in urban and rural places too.

Just for the record, I am currently at 95 kilos with 175 weight. It means I am obese, although the only visible fat on my body is my moobs and stomach.
