I did a search on the hashtag #lowsodium and it returned zero results. So I am putting one here.
I was advised to go on a low sodium diet after I had a (hopefully minor) heart issue at the beginning of the year.
Somewhat ironically, previous to that I had discovered cooking videos on YouTube and found out that salt is pretty much the key to all flavors and it really did improve my home cooking. So now I have to start all over again. So I guess if I get any feedback I'll post occasionally.
So, one suggestion was food for our #LactoseFree, #LowSodium needs. Since most people don't cook low sodium foods, that pretty much means a whole separate meal. The same thing generally applies for lactose free. Creamed corn, out. Gravy, out. Mashed potatoes, likely out. Green bean casserole, out. Mac & cheese, uh, out. Pumpkin pie, out. Sweet potatoes, likely out. That's not even considering the sodium in ham & turkey & everything else. This is shaping up to be a mess of apologies & awkwardness. At least I'm assured this is a casual #Thanksgiving.
