#Bellingcat takes on that photo of the world's first solar panel in #LowTechMagazine! The one they thought had been edited to remove the true inventor. It wasn't, though it was certainly on the roof of George Cove's lab. But the panel in the photo may actually be a scam by Cove, or not photovoltaic.

Low Tech Magazine's close look at supply chains and bicycling is interesting and might convince you to find or fix up that old steel frame rather than get the newest cheap aluminum one.

Can we transition to sailing ships for cargo? Will it reduce carbon emissions?

Yes and yes. #LowTechMagazine wrote a very detailed and thoughtful article about it.

The main thing: slowing down transit speeds would reduce transit and travel and THAT would be perhaps the best impact.

Reminds me of Kim Stanley Robinson's Ministry of the Future, imagining sailing cargo ships and dirigibles for transit. I love the ideas and sorting through the realities.

Ein neuer Artikel von einer meiner #LieblingsWebsites, dem #lowtechmagazine mit überraschenden und weniger überraschenden Infos zu unseren geliebten und selten geschiebten (sorry) #Fahrrädern. Die haben leider auch einen immer größer werdenden (geschätzten) CO2-Fußabdruck.

Fazit: Ich liebe mein Oldtimer-Rennrad jetzt noch ein bisschen mehr und werde es hoffentlich bald weniger schieben (müssen) 🚴‍♂️❤️
