LPFM licenses only open up once every 5-10 years, and you need your ducks in a row to get one. We had to demonstrate our station was already up and running, had programming, etc. to ensure a successful application.
It shouldn’t be that hard. The FCC should want communities building public access and resiliency into the airwaves. Our current approach to #LPFM is an unfortunate one.

Frustrating that I just found out, because I’ve been thinking a lot about starting another #CommunityRadio station, but that’s not enough time to get it up and running.
