L'Assemblea nazionale ha eletto Sonexay #Siphandone (#LPRP|Estrema sinistra) come nuovo Primo Ministro del paese per sostituire Phankham #Viphavanh (LPRP) che si è dimesso adducendo motivi di salute.
Siphandone ha ricoperto la carica di Vicepremier dal 2016 fino ad oggi.
