Like this review (the only one I can find, apart from a paywalled Scotsman review), I thought their performance of Shostakovich's Symphony 11 was tremendous - very powerful music, and tremendous playing all round.
And the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto 2 left me unmoved - almost too familiar.
But the Shostakovich was remarkable!

He is *the* trumpet on films such as Star Wars, Superman, ET, Harry Potter etc. Brought up in brass bands, he spent 5 years as principal cornet of the #BlackDykeBand and 30 years as principal of the #LondonSymphonyOrchestra.
An immortal legend amongst brass players.
