@agvbergin Tend to agree with this. I think it's important to see #ULEZ as 1) a first step and 2) as part of a package of reforms. E.g., opponents of #LTNs like to claim (with or without evidence!) that more cars taking more circuitous routes will lead to higher emissions, and having a ULEZ somewhat addresses that argument
Of course the internal politics of this within #labour are likely to remain fraught. It looks from press briefings that some people best described as #blair #ultras may have seized on arguments over #ulez extension, #ltns and #netzero as a golden opportunity to resume a #vendetta against specifically #edmiliband and #sadiqkhan that has gone already for the best part of twenty years and has at different times involved the support of the #murdochs and possibly even #berlusconi !

#LTNs or Livable Streets may not be perfect but in the face of Rome (or rather, Sicily, parts of Greece, California, Queensland) burning surely we should do something to reduce car travel?
But no.
UK PM Rishi Sunak has pledged to ignore #ClimateCrisis and court the petrolhead vote, sacrificing our children and hastening the death of our Livable World.
"Low-traffic neighbourhoods may lead people to drive less, data suggests"
Splendid.
I see a Bad Right Wing Rag tried to critique this article, but all they could do was whinge about bias without... actually pointing to any.
There are, incidentally, no studies showing that #lowTrafficNeighbourhoods have generally bad outcomes, but this is not because of anyone's bias; it's because #LTNs just do generally have good outcomes. There *are* studies showing some LTNs work better than others... but that's because of how numbers work.

Saw some good news over on twitter from BBC's Tom Edwards regarding #Islington council's plan to roll-out more #LTNs in the borough. Of course the replies a mixture of entitled drivers and climate deniers over there.
@matthewsweet If my local #LTN is anything to go by, the problem is that councils have been given a bit of money to do something transporty but not enough to do anything at all costly. Well-researched and carefully planned #LTNs are great, but many don't meet that bar. Unlikely to be a Zionist WEF plot, though.
A/B Street is an open source web tool designed to help citizens and Council officers play around with ideas on how best to implement a Low Traffic Neighbourhood.
