How long will it be before #LucidMotors, #Rivian, maybe even a post-#Musk version of #Tesla form a #merger, as now they're just another automaker competing with the likes of #GM, #Stellantis, #Toyota et al. to make & sell #electric cars, no longer being unique in that space?

We've already seen #ICE brands disappear as the #automotive industry has consolidated over the last century, so now that #EV's are no longer an exception, but becoming the regulated norm, will all the startups merge soon?

Then there are the more dramatic EVs, like the #LucidMotors Air and #Cadillac Lyriq, both of which promise a very different interpretation of modern luxury and performance. Like a lot of people I was skeptical that Lucid could deliver - making a car company from scratch is hard! - but the results had me googling how much I could sell a kidney for.
