Had a lovely midday fish sesh at Milk Beach (Sydney harbour, Gadigal Country). today. Broke in the new blackfish rod my dad built(!!!) by hand for my birthday, and caught the first blackfish I’ve seen in decades! Gorgeous fish though she got beaten up a bit by the rock oysters on the way in. Collected sea cabbage for bait late last night from my top secret spot. Going old school today with my grandfather’s #handmade blackfishing rod, which is probably a good 40 years old. Just gave it a good clean but it probably needs deeper maintenance.
