I do declare my Budvar 33 a success. Clarity is great. Foam from the Lukr tap is great. Smells great. Tastes great. Now just to wait another week or two for my “Pitelnost” Světlý Ležák lagering to complete so I can compare and decide which is my baseline brew to then experiment with yeast and hops.
Finally made it up to #SacredProfane for some deliciousness in a glass.
I’m in love with what they are doing.

Sunday project. Decided to decommission the two kegerator fridges. Doesn’t make sense to pay electricity for those when I have the wine cellar at 10C which how I like my beers as well. Built the table from wood I had down in the barn and some decking timber for the top. Need to hook up the kegs and sort out CO2 from outside. I can run it from out in the garage under the door that is behind the table.

Back home to NZ from Chicago. Was great to see mom and to try so many great Chicago area and imported beers. But I came home to find my Pilsner Urquell glasses have been delivered. So time for a Lukr faucet pour of my Schönramer Pils. Don’t know if this will help or hurt the jet lag.

My California Common poured from the Lukr faucet. The aroma and taste of the rye pops out and the mouthfeel is so smooth, though I recall Anchor Steam being quite carbonated and having the bite from the CO2. A totally new experience with this beer. Same beer, different tap = tastes quite different. Very interesting experience.
First attempt was with the remains of my last English Ale - creamy and sweeter than regular tap. Next try with my latest American Pale Ale (the hops leftovers version) and the bitterness is slightly attenuated, that smooth mouthfeel and softened carbonation. I love this Lukr faucet. Still not getting as much foam as a proper Czech pour but I’ll keep trying. My Bohemian Pilsner (9 weeks lagered and time for a QA sample) is up next. #beer #Lukr #PracticeMakesPerfect
