Exactly. I expect it of #Act but I thought #Luxon advisers would have had a quiet word with him. Sometimes the #NationalParty seems to deliberate ignore it's own history

If National had a halfway decent leader, their polling numbers would be much stronger.
#luxon is clearly a drag on party polling. And its this, plus the fear of an overly influential ACT on final ministries and policies, that’s suppressing rightwing support. #nzpol #NZVotes2023

Yuck and spooky at the same time...
It's bizarre that people who seem in other areas of their lives to be quite knowledgeable just blindly accept and believe the things he mutters about...
Luxon says about giving the Mongrel Mob money to resolve drug dependency:
"That's insane, that's insane, they're the people that create the drug dependency in the first place, there's much better rehabilitation providers than the Mongrel Mob."
No, they are not creating dependency. That's poverty, Christopher. Poverty and lack of opportunity. Something your party is intent on making worse through policy.
Chris Luxon is a turtle on a fencepost, wrapped in an expensive blue suit. #PostTurtle #Luxon
I can’t recall any other NZ or Australian PM or Opposition Ldr talking down their country like this. And this applies to all sides of the political aisle.
This really captures his unfitness for the country’s highest office.
While his followers will praise his “honesty” a comment like this offends and alienates in equal parts. It’s dumb arrogant politics in a nutshell.

My partner thinks that Luxon saying this to farmers has better described farmers themselves
Christopher Luxon talking about how Christians challenge the rich to share the wealth with the poor.
Yet he as a wealthy Christian man won't do the same thing he implies is integral to Christian values. He refuses a capital gains tax or anything that could lead to actually helping the poor.

National wants NZ to embrace GMOs. Damn the kudos of being a proudly “GMO free” country. Luxon claims that loss would be compensated by "increases in efficiency."

I’m always amused and bemused by the belief/perception #luxon will be a competent PM because he was purportedly a competent executive corporate manager.
Firstly, his time as Oppo Ldr, to date, has been characterised by numerous media stumbles, policy bumbles, repetitious corporate jargon & some serious dog whistling on racism and gender equity.
While his corporate career was, in truth, a very disliked and sexist/blokey Air NZ CEO and a Unilever template country mgr with glorified titles.
My cartoon in today's Sunday Star Times & online @NZStuff
Even though the polls show a slight lead by the National Party, they gotta keep an eye on its leader...

Former Nat MP Philip Burdon sums up the multiple challenges facing Luxon. This one caught my eye.
"...his failure to express distaste for former National leader Sir John Key’s commercial association with the brothel and strip club owners-turned property developers, the Chow brothers."
Burdon is the first Nat to criticise Key's dodgy business dealings in public. For the rest, money trumps morals.

Shame the Leader of the Opposition #Luxon had no comments on this. It doesn't seem to fit with his commitment to reduce tax at the top end
Christopher Luxon only spent week in isolation with Covid-19 because it was mandatory
And you want us to vote for you?
