Map showing select #Phoenician / #Canaanite colonies and settlements with their known or reasonably suggested endonymic names.

This map is more information card than eye-candy, with a look-up table of settlements, being a review of almost 90 different sources. As always all information is on the image. There are two versions here: A and B, with B being for if A is too hard to read.

I did try to automate citations due to the ridiculous amount of reading. There may be errors due to the software.

Today's triumph was lentil soup. I managed to put something together that's pretty simple, but well flavored. The family gave it a 4/4 so I guess I'll be making it again sooner than later.

If you really think about it, most of the #wars we have had over the past 50 years have been over oil or other fossil fuels.

#Ukraine has always been an entryway to Europe from Central Asia and the Middle East and it still is. That goes for for oil and natural gas pipelines. Whomever controls Ukraine gets to keep control over the flow of a lot of fuel moving in and out of #Europe. Whichever major power can install a puppet government in Ukraine controls the oil and gas supply for a big section of the world with a high demand for fuel.

So now neighbors cant trade the stuff they have an abundance of locally, like gold for oil in Africa. They have to sell their oil for US Dollars. If their neighbor also doesn't have an abundance of US Dollars (because America is also robbing them) then they can't sell oil to their neighbor. The US sets the price for oil and forces them to buy overpriced goods to get rid of their dollars. These resource rich nations live in squalor and no one cares. This system of government is known as a Kleptocracy.

A huge amount of the fossil fuels we use are for #cars. They are inefficient and deadly.

If you think #ElectricCars are a way out, clear your mind of that delusion right now. #Lithium is a rare earth metal and it is highly reactive with water. It is not sustainable and we get back to the same problem of corporations under the disguise of nations, wilding militaries like a blade, and killing over resources.

Afghanistan has some of the largest known deposits of lithium. I wonder what the excuse will be next time the US or Russia invades?
