On our #cycle tour yesterday, we stopped of at #Lydford. This is the interior of #LydfordCastle, which despite its name was more a #prison than a #castle. It is curated by #EnglishHeritage.
The #photograph was taken from the ground floor although the entrance is on the first floor and is visible over half way up. I tried to capture the high contrast between the sunlit and in-shade areas of the south wall.

986 followers · 10873 posts · Server mastodon.org.uk#Cycled over 60km today in a tour from #Okehampton railway station, to #Northlew, #BrattonClovelly, #Lydford, #MeldonDam and then back to to Okehampton on a beautiful #summer's day in #Devon. Perhaps a little too hot but still worth doing. There were several steep uphill climbs (for me) with my #hybrid #bike in its lowest gear! but I’m still in one piece. I’m glad tomorrow’s a bank #holiday :-)
