There’s nothing revolutionary in #LynneRamsay ‘s #YouWereNeverReallyHere. It's a rehash of noir & gritty New York movies of yesteryear, albeit extremely well done. What she does here is subverting that tired angry white male hero genre into a male identity crisis. #JoaquinPhoenix is great embodiment of emasculated, bruised male ego & does his hammer do the talking. The diner scene is every bit as memorable as in Good Fellas or Five Easy Pieces from a complete opposite spectrum. #neonoir
