The Lyrids meteor shower. Watch along the horizon, moving across from left to right. At 30 seconds, something incredible happens in the top right of the frame.

I'm not sure what exactly it is, but I know it's special.

It was very cool to be able to see the Northern Lights over Wisconsin last Sunday/Monday. At one point they were covering 3/4 of the sky. And then I remembered I had a camera in the house, here's a couple of the better shots. I was loving the glow through the trees, all mystical forest like, and even caught a few of the Lyrids.

Caught a meteor at Wide Hollow last night, and then the meteor exploded into a an orange string of gas in the sky. Never seen that happen before.

Meteor shower alert tonight, Saturday:

"For best viewing, Rice suggests watching the sunset toward the western sky, waiting until dark, and then turning around to the northeastern sky to look for meteors. The meteors will be flying up from the horizon, Rice said."
