There’s a line in Straight Line Crazy where Robert Moses dismisses that the Washington Square Park roadway protests are basically just a bunch of women that reminded me what a great choice it was to write Maarva as the leader of the uprising on Ferrix. Maarva may not be like Jane Jacobs, but there’s something very real and powerful in writing a woman to lead a rebellion.
