He was so fascinated by his view of the tractor (and talking to himself about it) that he didn't want out of his cage. But now the tractor is out of view so he came out of his cage.

The green macaw is critically endangered so it was a real privilege to see several pairs fly and feed in the wild! They are very large birds, very loud and colorful with a huge personality. They hardly ever stop moving so taking photos was a challenge but look at those magnificent feathers!

He does not know I would not take him out now that he’s made it clear to me that he doesn’t like rain. He’s having his breakfast and morning arthritis meds in his cage.

When people are talking when he's near, he joins the conversation with a low string of nonsense syllables punctuated by occasional laughter. He did that, plus danced a bit and showed off some of his tricks. He was charming even when he was eating my jacket. Our neighbors are delightful too.

Nope. He very carefully ate all the non-medicated parts. He’s chewing up a squash right now so I guess I’ll try again later. My fault.

AND in a holiday miracle, he went into his travel cage with NO trouble.

@jally I wouldn’t want to disappoint! Meet Tristan and Iseult my Hahn’s Macaws. Both foster-fails, they’d been rehomed 3x prior to my fostering them, they kept being returned due to aggression. I adore them, but they’re brats, and bullies to everyone except me, typical #macaws.
