I got an Apple Silicon #Macbook from our IT to check out how viable it is as a #Linux laptop using #Fedora #Asahi Remix by @AsahiLinux.

Is it normal #Apple #MacBook (air? non-Apple-silicon at least...) behavior that when you plug the charger (these small white ones without grounding) into a power socket, it makes one hell of a bang, unleashes a flash of lightning, blackens the outlet and pops the breaker?

The macbook of a student I was working with did that. After reactivating the breaker, it charged normally again (wtf). 🤨

I have an old #Macbook (like 2010 old) that my Dad gave me a few years back. It still works surprisingly well (upgraded RAM and SSD helped a bunch). For whatever reason, #Chrome was slower than molasses on it. I decided to give #firefox another chance and it performed a 1000x times better (exaggeration? yes).

Chrome used to be a super lightweight browser that did well on most machines, but that hasn't been the case for a few years.

Can anybody explain to me how you can drag’n'drop and scroll at the same time with a #macbook touchpad? With a mouse, no problem, but it seems impossible with a trackpad. Am I completely stupid?
