If you're going to Madrid, make use of public transport (metro/underground for the win) and your feet. It'll get you nearly everywhere, and burn some extra calories to enjoy all the good stuff.

For the metro (and buses) go buy a transport card (2,5€) and load it with a 10 trip card (8,5€) valid for all metropolitan area.

You can even go from/to the airport by metro and it'll cost you just a 3€ supplement (so 3,85€ to get from the airport to wherever in the city).
