And finally watched #MagazineDreams Not going to lie, I primarily chose this one because of Johnathan Majors and his performance did not disappoint. Can’t say the same for the film itself though. Very grim, almost too grim in having the main character suffer a lot. I’m not sure that what happens in the 3rd act is earned and there is a scene that was obviously cut which caused a bit of confusion for me. /1

So, when do *I* get to watch #MagazineDreams? Because I am delighted to see iMDB declare the release date as January 20. At #Sundance. And nowhere else. Unfortunately I had other engagements, such as being in Europe, and there isn't even a trailer. There is one promotional photo and tons of reviews that sound like someone filmed a book I want to write.

How do I find a release date for a film that was already "released"? Shut up and take my money, …someone!

#MagazineDreams could not be more unpleasant. Great acting from Jonathan Majors, but not something you'd recommend to anyone. If only there had been a whole movie.

#MagazineDreams: INCREDIBLE performance by Jonathan Majors who is about to have an amazing year of acting in 2023. He’s absolutely mesmerizing and heartbreaking as Killian Maddox. The last 30/40 minutes of the film had me gritting my teeth from sheer stress. What a film.

I just came across stories about this movie today thanks to #AppleNews.

From the 3-4 reviews I've read, it seems to be a bit akin to Taxi Driver and The Joker, but that might be how white reviewers are comfortable describing this because it sounds as if it may be more closely a violent character variation on the alienation and isolation of Moonlight, with the obsession of Requiem for a Dream.

This is one I'm ready to watch.
