Oh, and for anyone interested in Renaissance choral music, here's a recommendation: Chanticleer's 'Magnificat'. I listened to the playlist over and over again while working on 'Primavera' since the Virgin Mary plays an important side role in the story. As an a capella group, Chanticleer's just sublime, so this is the perfect combo for musical inspiration.

Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she visited her cousin, then she exclaimed what we today call the #Magnificat. A part, usually forgotten & skipped over, goes like this:

"He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent away empty."

The message of #Christmas is #spiritual, #socioeconomic, & #political.
