Today’s #date the 9th #April in 1909 was a #Good #Friday and on that day, a #ship named the SS #Mahratta was #wrecked on the #Goodwin #Sands off the #English coast.
Thirty years later in October 1939, a second SS Mahratta succumbed to the same #fate. Same name, same owner, same route, same place, same cargo and same casualty number.
