On this day in history. The paddle steamer Maid of the Loch was launched on Loch Lomond 70 years ago today, on 5 March 1953, and regularly sailed on the loch until 1981. It is hoped to return her to service. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lomond/maidoftheloch/index.html

Good morning. Pre-Covid, my husband and I used to take part in the Great Scottish Swim each year. Obviously everything was cancelled for a couple of years and we’ve never re-entered. Loch Lomond is a fabulous place to swim. Here, in sunshine, with The Maid of The Loch sitting proud.
