#mailgun user management is a nightmare. You cannot administer accounts in your domain, anyone on your domain can create an account and do whatever and you can't include that account in your team. Security ramifications are kinda mind boggling..

Pretty long #ddos attack on #mailgun started on the USA node yesterday and according to status is shifting to the Eu node. Surprised there isn’t more chatter about it as it’s been going on for quite a while.
That said we just saw very slow post times (10seconds instead of the usual >0.5 sec but not a total failure so it never really went offline.

Opvallend wat #Mailgun nog kost. Wat mij betreft een goede incentive om alle mails in je profiel uit te zetten. Zo steun je toch een beetje, ook als je niet kunt #doneren (👉 https://mastodon.nl/about).

Wellicht dat het ook via de app kan. Via de website gaat het iig via het tandwieltje (Preferences/voorkeuren) en ziet het er vervolgens uit zoals in de afbeelding.

However, since I've already performed the repeatable action once, the UI strikes it out ... and I can't click it.

Off to hunt for where "Add a custom domain" is, then.

Tried to integrate #SendGrid, #MailChimp and #MailGun into my #RubyOnRails project and I have to say that: The onboarding documentation, documentation in general, and the #DX provided could "use some love".

So I got #mailgun working with #cloudflare workers in the console, no problem. Try it from the browser and I get a weird "no from specified" error. WTF. I tried the official partner, #mailchannels, and yeah, it just worked perfectly from the start. I think I should have taken the hint when I found SendGrid and Mailgun's NPM's don't work in Cloudflare workers and were out of date (everyone else seems to be doing raw API requests like I tried).

Hardly any deviation from the instructions, although had to setup DynU to redirect my domain and by good fortune I already had an underused #mailgun account.

Migrating from @mastodon.social did not bring over all followed accounts, but as I'm new 2 Mastodon, easy to refind.

Biggest issue is that it is quite quiet on a private instance but sure I will find more peeps to follow soon.

Election complete! We had two nominations for team representative to the #TransparentClassroom board.

I ran the election using #Elected, a collection of #Deno scripts for running ranked-choice elections using #Mailgun to distribute voter unique ids and #Airtable to collect results in a webform: https://github.com/zspencer/elected

Overall, went pretty painlessly. Candidates made statements, 9 ballots were distributed, 8 were returned, and the results were tallied!

If you have a VPS with a provider that blocks SMTP traffic on the usual ports, and you want to be able to send mail, then #Mailgun provides port 2525 as an alternative to 587, and is less likely to be blocked!
