I wish Apple’s mail.app wouldn’t just make my mac hot-af whenever I’m trying to use it. It’s the only app that makes mac unbearable hot and literally unusable. Tried #Thunderbird and #Mailmate but both of these lack conversation view like in gmail/mail.app.

best #MUA for #macOS is still #mailMate. i'm using it right now to haul about 200,000 emails from fastmail to my local imap stash.

How do you browse and search old, inactive email accounts?

I think my ideal workflow would be indefinitely storing those mailboxes in #AppleMail, #MailMate, or some similar program. That way I can use those programs' searching/filtering and threaded-conversation views. But neither program lets you have a sandboxed set of mailboxes without an IMAP connection.

Do I need to run a local IMAP server on my Mac?

Just started the #KeyboardMaestro free trial and immediately bought it when I figured out I could create a macro in #MailMate to automatically create a task in #ObsidianMD from an email message.

This automation prompts for the number of days to set the due date then create the Obsidian task with a link back to the email message in MailMate.
